If you have ever thought to yourself that Heidi Klum seems like a living doll, then you and the good folks of Mattel are on the same wavelength. As part of Barbie’s Blonde Ambition Collection, Heidi Klum will have her own Barbie Doll. The line features a series of iconic blondes in fashion and entertainment…& who better than Heidi Klum! The dolls won’t hit stores or www.barbiecollector.com until September…but here is a sneak preview of the finished result. Heidi Klum is not the only celebrity being used as a Mattel muse…other celebrity Blondes lucky enough to have a doll made after them include Goldie Hawn & Marilyn Monroe, check them all out this fall. Whether you’re staying in the city or hitting the beach, espadrilles are the perfect shoe this summer. A preppy favorite in the 80s, loved by everyone from Bananarama to Duran Duran, they are both practical and cool. Fabulous…Beachy Waves!!

Beachy, tousled waves are summer’s perfect go-to hair style and this season’s take on the trend has a lux, polished twist. Seen all over the s/s09 catwalks, from Paul & Joe to Moschino Cheap & Chic, overly teased, salt sprayed locks have disappeared and in their place is a chicer and more refined look. To get the look….Try blow drying your hair with a large round brush taking sections and wrapping them around the barrel. Hold and dry for a few seconds, then unravel the hair and comb through with fingers to break up the sections. When finishing off this look, go for natural products that are flexible, add shine and smooth hair instead of products from this trends past that will leave your hair hard and crunchy. Fabulous!!

Sequins are a style perennial these days, perfect for dressing up or adding some glam-rock chic to a grungy outfit for day. Right now the A-list are wearing them everywhere, being spotted channeling 1980s disco-glam to 1990s grunge. The key with this current trend is to use the Sequins to dress up an obviously casual or grunge outfit….pulling together the two completely extreme looks in an artsy and fun way! Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Jimmy Choo for H&M!!

Hot on the heels of Mathew Williamson’s boldly printed summer line, H&M has announced its next high-end collaboration with star-favorite accessories brand Jimmy Choo. The luxury shoe line, which is a red carpet favorite of stars like Kate Hudson, Vanessa Hidgens, Jessica Alba, Beyonce and more, will not only be creating a women’s and men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories, but will be extending its range to a women’s clothing line. This marks the first designer accessory collaboration for H&M. Jimmy Choo for H&M will hit stores November 14, 2009 with shoe styles ranging from $60-$200…a steal compared to Jimmy Choo’s $500+ prices. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…CFDA Designer of the year!!

Last night design duo Rodarte received the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award, presented by Diane Kruger in New York. Fashion's biggest names as well as a host of Hollywood style mavens flocked to New York last night for the US fashion industry's equivalent of the Oscars. The big award of the evening went to Rodarte sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy…while Marc Jacobs (a previous Designer of the Year winner) scooped the International Award. Fashion's wonderkid Alexander Wang won the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent, Anna Sui was honored with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, Ralph Lauren was honored with the first People's Choice Award, while First Lady Michelle Obama received the CFDA’s Board of Directors’ Special Tribute. Congratulations to all the winners! Fabulous!!

Fabulous…In Bloom!!

Reese Witherspoon, Avon’s ambassador is the next Hollywood star to join the ranks of celeb perfumers, announcing that she plans to launch her first signature scent for Avon. In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon will be a gardenia, magnolia and jasmine scent, and the star’s inspiration for the feminine floral hit her close to home. Reese drew from scents that reminded her of her past and present. Growing up in Tennessee, she was inspired by the magnolia scent and the smell of the white blossom’s that grew in her backyard. But while the scent references the actress’s past, she wanted it also to be a clear reflection of her present. In Bloom represents where she is in her life today…feeling strong, independent, happy & full of life….the fragrance truly captures that feeling¬¬. Reese’s new scent won’t launch till later this year and will be available exclusively at Avon. Fabulous!!

The current trend for 80s sportswear means the T-shirt dress is back. This effortlessly cool piece also just happens to be the easiest thing to wear all summer. Simple and versatile, dress it up with strong, edgy accessories and heels, or down with a stone washed denim jacket and gladiator sandals. The T-shirt dress is also the perfect throw on for days at the beach and with just a tiny bit of styling and accessories this trend on dress could take you straight to the bar. You will find t-shirt dresses on both sides of the price spectrum…so not to worry my budget fashionista’s…there something out there for you too! Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Stella McCartney for GapKids!

Stella McCartney, whose designs are worn by stars like Kate Hudson, Madonna, Cameron Diaz and more, is lending her talents to the Gap for a one-off collaboration for GapKids and babyGap. Stella joins a host of designers who have previously collaborated with Gap including Rodarte, Pierre Hardy and Alexander Wang - whose Khaki collection hits stores on June 16th. Her designs have yet to be revealed but you can count on these famous tots such as Rider, Lourdes and Suri Cruise to be sporting the mother-of-three’s Gap designs. The collection will launch later this year in Gap stores all over the world as well as www.gap.com. Fabulous!!

The most laid back style of the trouser family, Chinos are the summer alternative to jeans and harem pants this season. A-listers have taken to this trend….& fast. Try wearing them the same way as your would your peg-legs…roomy at the hip, rolled at the hem, & with a pair of strappy heels or gladiator sandals. This look works for just about anything…night, day, party or office. Just remember this seasons Chino look is more relaxed than ever…so make sure the pair you decide to sport are more on the masculine or baggy side. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Straw Hats!!

This week if you want to get ahead in the fashion stakes get a hat…and a straw one at that. Wintry felt and fabric fedoras, porkpies and bowler hats have been replaced with straw versions which are perfect for the summer. As always, look for a hat that suits your face and flatters your own personal style. Hats can be found in all shapes, colors and sizes…so don’t just go for the basic straw. Look for accessorized hats with details such as grosgrain ribbons, flowers, feathers or piping…such as Chloe Sevigny’s Mary Poppin’s-esque Straw Boater. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Global Giving!!

Italian luxury designer Salvatore Ferragamo and stars like Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, Demi Moore, Gywneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria Parker…among others are coming to the aid of the Italian town L’Aquila that lost almost 300 people in a tragic earthquake in early April. The devastating earthquake that struck central Italy on April 6 has killed over 270 people, injured hundreds and left nearly 30,000 people homeless. The effects of this earthquake and its aftershocks have been widespread…leaving buildings, homes and historical landmarks in at least 26 surrounding towns in rubble. The A-list stars are auctioning off autographed Ferragamo handbags to benefit GlobalGiving’s Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund. Bags on the eBay auction block include Aniston’s eco-friendly hobo, with her signature in hot pink ink on the inside natural hemp lining and a handwritten note from the actress herself. Fabulous…Masculine Scents!!

Ostentatious displays of luxury might not be of-the-moment, but making a big statement with your perfume is right on-trend. While…red lips, textured hair & contouring trends have been strutting their stuff on the catwalk and red carpet, a quiet beauty revolution has been taking place in those stashes of glass bottles on our dressing tables….slowly but surely changing the way we smell affecting what scents we choose to wear. In distinct contrast to the flowery, fruity, sweet scents that have dominated fragrance halls in recent years the new perfumes are big, complex scents that are heady, exotic, strident, masculine, or all of the above. Look for a bold fragrance the works well with your own body chemistry. Go for something masculine…think rich and musky…but, bold instead of butch. Fabulous!!
