Fabulous…Gap Khaki!!


For this year’s Gap Design Edition collection, the retailer has teamed with CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners Albertus Swanepoel, Alexander Wang, and Vena Cava’s Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai. Instead of the plain white shirt, designers got the chance to revamp another Gap classic…the khaki! The resulting collection offers a variety of khaki pieces ranging from jackets to dresses to hats. Each piece reflects the designers’ creative visions while still retaining Gap’s classic, yet casual, aesthetic. Albertis Swanepoel, Alexander Wang and Vena Cava’s Lisa Mayock and Sophia Buhai join other CFDA winners who have collaborated with Gap including Doo-Ri Chung, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, Thakoon Panichgul Thakoon, Phillip Lim and Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders. Fabulous…Claw Money!!


Claw Money is collaborating with Sunglass Hut….The legendary graffiti artist hasn’t produced the whole collection just yet, but she’s designed one style that’ll be distributed at next week’s Social Sun launch party. Social Sun for Sunglass Hut is their new interactive way of shopping for glasses that allows customers to virtually try on as many styles as they want, blast them to friends via Facebook, texts, emails and even in-store TV screens, before deciding which ones they want to buy. Cory Kennedy will be hosting the party with a special concert by Sean Paul at the Herald Square flagship next week so if you see a bunch of Jeremy Scott bedecked hipsters in the most unlikely of neighborhoods, you’ll know what’s going on. Fabulous…Elizabeth & James Fall 09!!


Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen bring the journey of Peter Pan’s Lost Boys to life in their Fall ‘09 collection for Elizabeth and James. Starting with the “Proper” London life and then giving way to the savage gardens of Neverland, expect to see schoolboy and Victorian detailing followed by raw-edged foliage pieces, prints and silhouettes. This collection marks the addition of a men’s collection and footwear to the already popular line. Stars like Nicole Richie, Lauren Conrad, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Hudgens and more already love the line, and with the addition of menswear, it’s only a matter time before we see Hollywood’s “IT” guys wearing Elizabeth and James too. Fabulous…Fashion Against AIDS!!


For its second season of Fashion Against AIDS, H&M has teamed up with stars like Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, Estelle, Cyndi Lauper, Yoko Ono, N.E.R.D and more. Each star has collaborated with H&M on designs for T-shirts, T-shirt dresses, vests and bodysuits to spread the word about safe sex through bold slogans in vibrant colors. Katy Perry’s safe sex message, “It’s What’s On The Outside That Counts,” is printed in bright script on a body suit and T-shirt. Dita Von Teese offers an alluring image of her iconic red lips and arched brow on a cute cap-sleeved T-shirt while Cyndi Lauper takes an 80’s approach with her iconic slogan, “Girls Just Want to Have Safe Sex,” scrawled in what looks like hot pink lipstick on a tank top. The collection will hit H&M stores on May 28, with 25% of the sales of each item will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. Fabulous!!

The Nautical trend has always been a major trend at the spring / summer shows, and this year is no different. As seen on the catwalk at Michael Kors and D&G…the chicest way to tap into the cruise look is to try a pair of so-now, preppy deck shoes. They are summer 2009s new alternative to the ballet flats and brogue. Try wearing them with rolled hemmed or skinny jeans and a stripped top for the ultimate Nautical look. Fabulous!!

Anna was drawn to the idea of creating a collection reflective of each characters style, sensibility and unique approach to fashion.
