Fabulous…Benefit!!

They say small is beautiful and while I wouldn't always necessarily agree, in the case of Benefit's Justine Case Mini Beautifier Kit, it's perfectly true. This dinky box contains everything a girl needs to refresh her make-up at any time and with SJP, Kate Hudson, and Dita Von Teese as fans, we know Benefit products really work. There are tiny bottles of the legendary Benefit, Eyecon (to banish dark circles) and California Kissin' (for a bright smile and minty breath), plus a compartment containing Some Kind-a Gorgeous - the most incredibly silky, velvety foundation to give you a flawless finish. Keep this little box of magic in your handbag to battle beauty emergencies whenever they happen. Check it out, available from leading department stores, Benefit boutiques, and Sephora nationwide. Fabulous…Halloween!!

The Village Halloween Parade is the nation's largest public Halloween celebration and has been a New York City institution for 33 years. It's crazy, crowded, and chaotic. And it's one of those things you just have to experience live at least once. The parade is even listed in the book, 100 Things to Do Before You Die: Travel Events You Just Can't Miss. More than 2 million spectators will show up to watch 45,000 costumed participants -- along with 42 marching bands, dancers, artists, and plenty of giant puppets and creative floats -- march through the streets of downtown Manhattan on October 31, 2007. Because New York City is a magnet for creative, bold, and exhibitionist personalities; you can also bet on seeing some of the world's most unique and spectacular Halloween costumes. If you show up in costume, you're welcome to join the parade…But you don't have to dress up to enjoy the parade. Just line up on 6th Avenue between Spring and 21st St. to watch the fun. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Against Breast Cancer Tee’s!!

Against Breast Cancer (http://www.aabc.org/) have joined forces with The Perfectly Pink Company to design a range of T-shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a whole host of celebs are already huge fans!! The stretchy, sexy tees fit beautifully and have a flirty design that makes them different to the traditional charity T-shirt. Tying in with the charity’s campaign title, ‘P is for Prevention not Cure’, the famous pink ribbon has been turned on its side to make a ‘P’ and included in a range of witty slogans, such as ‘P is for Punk’ and ‘P is for Pregnant’. They have also designed the first men’s t-shirt hoping to spread the message that it’s cool to support your woman!! I love these t-shirts, they're amazing… Not only do they look fabulous, they help a great cause with 100% of the profit going to Against Breast Cancer. Check them & other merchandise out at http://www.theperfectlypinkcompany.com/. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Gossip Girl!!

If you are truly a Fabulous Girl, then I’m sure you’re already addicted to the new CW hit show…Gossip Girl!! If you are sitting there…going what’s Gossip Girl…I beg you to get out from under the rock you’ve been hiding & get with the program….literally!! Gossip Girl is an American televison teen drama based on the popular novel series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York’s Upper East Side who attend elite academic institutions while dealing with sex, drugs, and other teenage issues. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series mainly centers around the lives of former best friends, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), and their shared romantic interest, Nate Archibald (Chance Crawford). As outsiders looking in, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) do not run in the same social or financial circles as their peers but are drawn into their lives nonetheless. The series is narrated by a seemingly omniscient character, "Gossip Girl" (voiced by Kristen Bell), who runs a blog about her fellow Upper East Siders — consequently stirring the pot and creating potential rivalries in this exclusive and vicious circle of friends. The CW’s Gossip Girl has become the fall's first new series to get a full-season order…picking up an additional 9 episodes from the original 13, bringing the total season order to 22.

Fashion is an essential backdrop to the series, as the socialites on the show are portrayed as knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the fashion industry with their eye constantly on the newest and brightest fashion designers. Due to the characters' privilege and wealth, and the show's setting in New York City most of the characters are impeccably dressed. Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman, also a former assistant costume designer and stylist on Sex and the City and i-D respectively, bases his outfit choices for the actresses in their respective characterizations on real-life East Coast socialites such as Tinsley Mortimer and Lydia Hearst-Shaw. Daman shops in the Meatpacking District and frequents fashion boutiques such as Opening Ceremony and Stella McCartney while mixing it up with better known fashion houses such as Chanel and Ferragamo. Fabulous!!

Check out Gossip Girl on the CW airing every Wednesday Night at 9pm!!!

Fabulous…Waisted Skirts!!

After a summer dodging congratulations in our maternity-style smocks…I am happy to announce it’s over!! I am delighted to say that a more grown-up, waisted shape is in for Autumn / Winter 2007. The nipped-in waist is seen best in the skirt suit, which has a distinct ‘40s feel!! A fitted, short jacket and either a pencil or A-line skirt, worn with ankle boots, will take you through the season in style. Also don’t be afraid to wear the pieces separately…the jacket with a vintage rock tee and jeans for example…Fabulous!!

Fabulous…For the Cure!!

In 1992 Evelyn Lauder launched Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to beat the deadly disease that affects so many people worldwide. A lot has been achieved, but there is still work to do and the campaign is going strong, with celebs like Elizabeth Hurley, Estée Lauder brands and breast cancer charities joining forces to battle the disease. More than 44,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year and one in nine women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime – sobering facts, but the news isn’t all bad – early diagnosis and new developments in treatment have led to a 20% fall in mortality rates. Fabulous…Heavy Metal!!

Come the party season, all of your favorite shops will be full to busting with gaudy gold and silver sequined and satin dresses, tops, and even dress pants…heaven forbid, which will result in a disco ball effect for the un-fashionable woman that just doesn’t know any better. You will be able to spot her from a far at your Holiday Office Party resembling an overdressed Christmas tree. Yikes!! The smart fashionista & Fabulous girl knows that metallics can be worn all year round, if you do it properly. For Autunm /Winter 2007, a more sophisticated look with metallics was seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Lela Rose. There collections are full of subtle sheen rather than all-out glitter and glitz - think anthracite and bronze rather than gold and silver. Whatever you do, don’t be afraid to mix in a little metallic glam…but keep it subtle. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Leather!!

For far too long leather has been confined to jackets & to the odd pair of dodgy pants worn by ageing rockers, but visionary designers like Christopher Kane have transformed the material into something quite revolutionary!! Kane sent rippled and pleated leather dresses down the catwalk at his Autumn / Winter 2007 show, which had an opulent yet medieval feel. The new sexy leather dresses and skirts are all the rage this season, available in a wide range of colors and price points. H&M have designed their own leather dresses, along with a collection of divine leather jackets which can be thrown over a party dress for pure rock ‘n’ roll style. So this fall don’t forget the leather & work it like a ‘80s diva!! Fabulous!!
