The easiest way to nod to next season now is by sporting a little lace. Be it modern or vintage…this pretty-edgy fabric is both girlie and sexy all at the same time and featured all over the catwalks for a/w 09. Look for dresses, skirts, and tops to help you pull of this trend. Don’t be afraid to look to lace in fun and bold colors rather than the traditional white and off-white….nodding to this season’s trends while staying a step ahead of the curve. As with anything…look for something that flatters your body type and doesn’t leave anything inappropriate exposed...peaking through the lace. Fabulous!!

Fabulous…Avril's Abbey Dawn!!

A year after launching her Abbey Dawn collection…a Juniors line at Kohl’s stores, punk princess Avril Lavigne is extending the line to include clothing for younger girls as well. The Abbey Dawn children’s line will debut in two weeks and will be a cuddlier version of the singer’s own rock and roll style, featuring layered tees with friendly skull graphics and comfy leggings. In addition to helping kids find their inner bad girl, Lavigne will debut a new fragrance with Proctor & Gamble called Black Star this summer. Lavigne’s fashion and beauty endeavors are a reflection of her own evolving personal style. Although she’s traded in her tomboyish skateboard sneakers for high heels, she makes sure to hang on to her style roots mixing rock and roll elements with high-end feminine items….such as Chanel. From cropped tops to denim shorts, everything eighties is back in style and this week my fashion radar has picked up yet another 80’s inspired trend for summer…Hi Tops! A-listers’ from Heidi Klum, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Amber Rose have all been spotted wearing them. From flashy to understated, this trend is perfect for summer. If you are feeling bold, look for a pair done in a bright color…summer hues and rainbow shades work best…or if you need something a little more understated go for a classic all white pair. Also don’t discount the ultimate favs from the 80’s…the Reebok Classics, which never officially went away but are once again growing in popularity. Fabulous!!
